A Note from Jim Rua: How's this for an idea: a place in Albany like the
James Beard House and Peter Kump's Cooking School in Manhattan combined
into a nifty little package called The Cooking and Wine Society at Cafe
Capriccio? I've been thinking about it for years. The notion is to create
a setting for culinary and related activities, such as cooking classes,
demonstrations, wine seminars, masterpiece dinners and other events which
occur to us as we tango through our lives--starring the most creative and
talented culinarians in and around Albany. Those dark and dreary old spaces
above the Cafe have been gentrified, restored to glory and equipped for
epicurean pleasures.
The Cooking and Wine Society at Cafe Capriccio Exists!
Let's Get on with It.
The Program: On the 1st. of April 1997 we initiated a program of courses
and events designed to please the epicurean fancies of Metrolanders like
ourselves and our friends. Instructors will be the area's most talented
chefs, wine connoisseurs, culinary professionals, bon vivants and other
extraordinary denizens of Capitaland. Classes are limited to 15 participants
who assist the instructor prepare a feast in our new demonstration kitchen.
At the conclusion of class, everyone assembles at table to enjoy the results
of their collaboration. Wines are served and the evening continues. All
Classes begin at 6:30 P.M. unless otherwise stated.
Next time you are in the neighborhood, ask us to show you around.
If you would like to register for a class just call 518 465-6822.
